The Chemistry and Biochemistry (Standard) program stands as the department's most adaptable degree option, offering students the ability to select from various upper-level courses. This flexibility enables those with diverse academic interests to tailor their studies accordingly. Graduates earn a Bachelor of Science degree upon completion. The curriculum mandates at least 36 credit hours in chemistry coursework beyond introductory General Chemistry. Our foundational chemistry classes equip students with theoretical knowledge to comprehend chemistry's role in natural processes. Laboratory components focus on developing skills in experimental observation, data collection and analysis, drawing scientific inferences, and applying these findings to understand broader natural phenomena.
