Every year, the program provides students with numerous chances to contribute to actual productions across the Schools of Drama, Musical Theatre, Dance, and Music. Students usually start designing for theatre productions in their second year, with subsequent assignments aligning with their advancement in the design curriculum. Productions serve as practical extensions of classroom learning in design courses. Throughout their four years, Design and Production students work as Undergraduate Assistants in production shops, taking on greater responsibilities over time. A key feature of the program is its small student-to-faculty ratio, ensuring personalized instruction and mentorship. Additionally, students gain foundational knowledge in acting, directing, script analysis, play structure, and theatre history—essential components of a comprehensive theatre education.
