The Department of Political Science serves as the intellectual hub for professors, administrative personnel, undergraduate scholars, and graduate researchers united by their passion for political studies and academic growth. Our department provides two bachelor's programs - one in political science and another in public and nonprofit administration. We also offer master's degrees in political science and public administration, along with a PhD program in political science. Recognized as one of the most intellectually diverse departments at the University of Oklahoma, we foster exploration across numerous disciplines including American government, comparative political systems, global relations, policy studies, administrative sciences, and political philosophy. No single intellectual approach dominates - our diverse faculty and student body explore knowledge through multiple perspectives. The department collaborates with several prestigious research centers: the Carl Albert Congressional Research and Studies Center, OU POLL (Public Opinion Learning Laboratory), the Institute for Public Affairs, International and Area Studies, the Institute for American Constitutional Heritage, and the Center for Applied Social Research.
