The African & African American Studies (AFAM) program grants a Bachelor of Arts degree focused on exploring Africa and African American experiences through an interdisciplinary lens. AFAM's curriculum encompasses diverse concentration areas including Arts & Aesthetics, Literature & Oral Traditions, Community Theory & Practice, Gender Studies, African Studies, and History. Graduates earn a B.A. in African & African American Studies, with opportunities to combine this major with another discipline or complete it as a minor.
