The M.P.A. program's goal is to develop leaders committed to promoting ethical, responsible, and diverse governance. Graduates will serve varied local and international communities through skilled, professional public administration that emphasizes analytical thinking and the capacity to collaborate and address challenges within an evolving workforce and society.
According to U.S. News and World Report, UNT's M.P.A. program ranks first in Texas and the Southwest, and 11th nationally for local government management. Additional focus areas include nonprofit leadership, public financial management, crisis response, and personnel administration.
You'll learn proven management principles for practical implementation. Our extensive alumni network of over 1,500 professionals supports the program through internships, financial aid, and career guidance. The program holds accreditation from the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration, ensuring it meets rigorous educational standards. Admission candidates are classified into three tracks based on professional experience: pre-career (40 credit hours with internship), in-career (39 hours), or mid-career (36 hours).
