At the University of North Texas, the Division of Music History, Theory and Ethnomusicology offers specialized training that equips students for careers in music scholarship and university teaching. Qualification Requirements

Applicants for admission to the M.M. or D.M.A. degree programs in performance or Graduate Artist Certificate in Music Performance (GAC) must pass an admission audition before a faculty panel
Apply for admission to the College of Music through the online application for admission, audition, scholarship, fellowship and assistantships
A resume
Three letters of recommendation by persons who know the applicant personally, professionally and academically.
Examples of scholarly writing, a research paper, a published article, or an essay that demonstrates the ability to address significant issues pertaining to the area of study.
Statement of personal interest, to include a statement indicating reasons for interest in pursuing graduate study in the chosen field.
Evaluation of transcripts from previous degree(s): N.B. Please DO NOT send transcripts to the College of Music. They are part of your application to UNT's Toulouse Graduate School. After Toulouse evaluates your documents, they will forward copies to the College of Music for review. Your transcripts will be evaluated and notification of required leveling courses will be sent by the Graduate Studies Office after you receive notice of your admission.
