Gain essential knowledge about the intricate relationships between soil, water, and atmosphere while exploring innovative methods to protect our planet's resources. Geoscience is an interdisciplinary field that examines Earth's systems, integrating approaches from Geography, Geology, Biology, Ecology, Chemistry, and related sciences. Ph.D. students in Geoscience deepen their comprehension of human-induced environmental transformations and develop research strategies to address these challenges, safeguarding biodiversity for years to come.

This environmental science initiative represents a cross-departmental partnership between UNT's Biological Sciences, Geography, Chemistry, Philosophy and Religion Studies departments, along with others, to investigate pressing ecological concerns from multiple academic viewpoints.

Graduate students can pursue environmental science studies culminating in a Ph.D. degree awarded by the Department of Biological Sciences. The curriculum, featuring both required and optional courses, caters to individuals seeking a comprehensive understanding of the dynamic between humanity and the natural world.
