Collaborate with seasoned professionals to gain practical experience in digital and print journalism—whether for news organizations, corporate communications, nonprofits, or other fields.

Designed alongside industry leaders, the Mayborn School of Journalism's program provides students with versatile skills for careers across various media formats. Learners acquire the ability to assess, interpret, and communicate with a worldwide audience while examining the ethical dimensions of mass media in contemporary society. Mayborn students benefit from cutting-edge multimedia labs equipped with advanced computers, software, and video tools. The school prioritizes academic guidance and career mentorship from faculty with professional expertise.

Choose from journalism specializations—Broadcast and Digital, Print and Digital, or Photojournalism—to launch a career in reporting, writing, editing, or visual storytelling (video and photography) for digital, television, print, and radio outlets. Emphasizing multi-platform journalism, Mayborn students gain real-world experience as reporters, sports journalists, writers, photojournalists, designers, and editors for North Texas Daily, NTDaily.com, and NTDaily TV.

Students learn from instructors with deep industry backgrounds in broadcast, print, online, and digital news. They also have internship opportunities with newspapers, TV and radio stations, and digital outlets in the Dallas-Fort Worth region—the country's fifth-largest media market—as well as with news organizations statewide.
