The Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication provides three specialized academic pathways. The journalism track equips students for roles in news reporting, editing, production, and photojournalism across both traditional and digital platforms. The strategic communication track focuses on careers in advertising, public relations, and organizational communications for businesses, nonprofits, healthcare, and advocacy groups. Both professional tracks combine liberal arts education with industry context and practical skills for career success. The mass communication track explores media's societal, political, economic, and legal dimensions, allowing students to concentrate on subjects like media history, law, effects, industry analysis, global communication, or other areas offered by the Hubbard School.
