The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is a clinical degree earned after completing undergraduate studies, qualifying graduates to practice as physical therapists. This intensive three-year program, which runs through two summers, holds full accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). Students pursue their studies full-time, progressing through the curriculum together as a group. The curriculum provides comprehensive training in both fundamental and applied sciences related to physical therapy, equipping students to comprehend, connect, and implement theoretical knowledge in clinical settings. Through thoughtful clinical judgment and ongoing self-evaluation, students develop the skills for continuous professional growth while attaining essential clinical competencies. The program also includes mandatory full-time clinical placements in the final two years alongside classroom instruction.

Qualification Requirements

A baccalaureate degree from an accepted institutional accreditor, or its equivalent from a foreign institution, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in all work attempted in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate study. Transcripts, and foreign evaluations if applicable, from all post-secondary institutions attended. Admitted students will be prompted to provide official copies.
Recommendation Letters
Two (2) Letters of Recommendation are required using the PTCAS recommendation forms and should be submitted through the PTCAS evaluation system.
3.0 Cumulative GPA or higher for all terms consisting of the last 60 credit hours of degree-earning course work (undergraduate and/or graduate) is required to be considered eligible for admission.
Transcript information must be provided on the application. Your transcripts received by PTCAS will be transferred to the UNF application.
If applicable, collection holds and judicial holds must be cleared
A minimum TOEFL score of 79 internet-based (550 paper-based or 213 computer-based)
A band score of 6.5 on the University of Cambridge IELTS
