The Bachelor of Arts in Deaf Education prepares future educators to become skilled professionals capable of teaching students with hearing impairments across diverse learning environments. Participants in this program will gain a well-rounded understanding of different communication methods (including sign language and oral communication), varying levels of language and academic skills, the application of hearing assistance technology (such as hearing aids and cochlear implants), family relationships, and multicultural linguistic backgrounds.

Qualification Requirements

Admissions decisions at UNF are rendered based on academic merit. The state of Florida has implemented minimum admission standards for freshman applicants to all Florida public state universities. In order to be considered, students must have a minimum 2.5 recalculated GPA on a 4.0 scale and meet minimum test score requirements.
Regardless of when they graduated from high school, students applying as first-time-in-college (FTIC) applicants are required to submit either SAT, ACT and/or CLT test scores. UNF does not require the essay section of the SAT or ACT.
A minimum TOEFL score of 79 internet-based (550 paper-based or 213 computer-based)
A band score of 6.5 on the University of Cambridge IELTS
