The Master of Science in Chemistry is a research-intensive program designed to equip you for advanced academic pursuits or professional roles in chemistry, featuring guided independent research and specialized coursework. The Chemistry and Biochemistry Department provides research-driven Master's programs in both Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. This program aims to enable students with undergraduate chemistry backgrounds to pursue rigorous academic studies, specialized knowledge, and autonomous research.

Participants engage in pioneering research across diverse fields including Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Marine and Atmospheric Science, Biochemistry, Organic and Inorganic Synthesis, Analytical Chemistry, Computational and Physical Chemistry, and Chemical Education. A significant portion of this research leads to publications in peer-reviewed journals or conference presentations, frequently featuring students as co-authors.

Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's Degree - Hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in this country or its equivalent in a foreign institution.

Grade Point Average - Have a strong overall academic record with a B average or better in the basic courses prerequisite to the area of proposed graduate study.

The Graduate School requires one official transcript from each university, college, community college, junior college and high school dual enrollment institution attended.

A bachelor's degree with a concentration in chemistry from a regionally accredited college or university in this country, or its equivalent in a foreign institution, is required for admission, along with a B average or better in chemistry courses.

Transfer credit listed on another institution's transcript is not acceptable. Transcripts are not required for short term study abroad work that is Tran scripted (i.e., the courses and/or grades from the study abroad experience are listed) by a regionally accredited U.S. institution.
