The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) represents the highest practice-oriented degree for advanced nursing specialists. This program equips advanced practice nurses (APNs) to evaluate healthcare systems and deliver visionary leadership that enhances patient safety and quality of culturally sensitive care in southeastern North Carolina. The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner track develops professionals with specialized nursing expertise to deliver mental health services across all age groups. Graduates of this concentration are prepared for advanced provider positions in healthcare environments. The DNP curriculum comprises 73 credit hours, with 6 dedicated to a capstone project. Individual study plans are tailored to achieve advanced practice competencies for DNP graduates.
