The Literacy Education Program aims to develop teacher leaders who champion the integration of theory, research, and practice. These educators engage in thoughtful reflection, scholarly inquiry, and professional partnerships while providing culturally responsive, student-focused learning experiences that equip every learner with essential 21st-century literacy skills.
The 30-credit Master of Education program primarily focuses on preparing certified teachers for M-level licensure as K-12 Reading Specialists. Graduates not only learn to apply cutting-edge, research-backed instructional methods in their classrooms but also serve as educational leaders who advocate for these approaches among peers, school administrators, and the broader community.
