Students applying for the MA program with intentions to pursue a PhD can request consideration for the combined MA to PhD track. Admission to this accelerated pathway is highly selective, as it involves a substantial long-term commitment from the English Department and requires applicants to demonstrate extraordinary potential and academic excellence.

Successful candidates must satisfactorily complete all MA requirements before progressing to doctoral studies. Typically, accepted students receive two years of MA funding followed by four years of PhD support. Applicants not accepted into the combined program may still gain admission to the MA program and can reapply for PhD admission the following year.
