The Ph.D. Program in Kinesiology specializing in Applied Neuromechanics is designed to train future academic researchers and professors in fields such as: athletic training, sports medicine, biomechanics, and motor control. Students gain teaching, mentoring, and research experience through funded assistantships in research, teaching, and clinical practice.
With an emphasis on cross-disciplinary learning and practical clinical training, our varied and vibrant programs equip graduates for successful careers.
For more than 100 years, the Kinesiology Department has been a fundamental part of the University. Originating in 1892 as the Department of Physiology and Physical Culture in the Women's College, it championed the then-progressive belief that physical activity enhances women's health and wellbeing. While our name has changed over time alongside the university's growth, our commitment to advancing physical health education has remained unchanged.
