The Geography PhD program empowers students to expand their expertise in both the scope and specialization of geographic theories and research techniques. Doctoral candidates select a concentration from three distinct tracks: Urban Planning and Regional Economic Development, Earth Sciences and Natural Resource Conservation, or Geospatial Information Systems.
The program concludes with either a conventional dissertation or a series of three research articles suitable for academic publication.
Minimum requirements to be considered for admission to the Ph.D. in geography include 36 hours of graduate work in geography or an allied discipline.
English Language Proficiency: TOEFL: internet based - 79, or paper based - 550. A score of at least 6.5 is required on the IELTS.
