The UNCG Clinical Psychology program trains clinical psychologists to excel in both scientific knowledge and professional practice while developing cultural competence. Our graduates serve as Health Service Providers, addressing community challenges through research and clinical work. The program fosters critical analysis, creative problem-solving, research excellence, community involvement, and evidence-based approaches among students. We uphold principles of teamwork, dignity, fairness, diversity, inclusion, and strong ethical foundations.
Our training philosophy centers on two interconnected objectives:
Develop Health Service Psychologists proficient in psychological research, clinical application, and their synthesis
Cultivate ethically-minded professionals who advance psychology while honoring cultural diversity and demonstrating social responsibility in all aspects of their work
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or appropriately evaluated credentials for non-U.S. schools.
English Language Proficiency: TOEFL: internet based - 79, or paper based - 550. A score of at least 6.5 is required on the IELTS.
