This focus area explores urban expansion, demographic shifts, intercity relationships, and the consequences of these changes locally, regionally, and globally. The curriculum adapts to student preferences, offering core studies in urban systems, socioeconomic trends, population movements, employment research, social disparities, housing challenges, transportation networks, spatial evaluation, and the effects of globalization across different geographic contexts. Combining classroom learning with research projects, students gain expertise in practical geographic analysis within our interconnected world, enabling them to: (1) educate decision-makers and communities, (2) pursue careers in government, private firms, NGOs, international corporations, research institutions, and global entities, while (3) laying groundwork for advanced academic pursuits.
