An Electrical Engineering major culminating in the B.S.E.E. degree requires completion of 120 credit hours.
The Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.) program follows a highly structured curriculum. An eight-semester course sequence, exceeding full-time requirements, builds the foundation by developing concepts and design/analysis techniques essential to various specializations. Students should begin this program early at UNC Charlotte. Delayed initiation or transfer from another institution may extend completion beyond four years.
The curriculum emphasizes computer applications throughout. Graduates pursue diverse careers including power engineering, communications engineering, digital design engineering, testing engineering, embedded systems development, network engineering, control systems engineering, project engineering, robotics engineering, optoelectronics engineering, applications engineering, analog engineering, medical device engineering, and process engineering.
