The Post-Baccalaureate Program in Ancient Mediterranean Languages at UNC Chapel Hill is a joint initiative between the Classics and Religious Studies departments. This program caters to individuals with a bachelor's degree who seek intensive training in ancient languages, whether for personal enrichment or as preparation for graduate studies. The curriculum offers significant flexibility, enabling students to tailor their coursework to align with their academic goals.
Participants in the post-baccalaureate program are invited to engage fully with both departments. They receive departmental mailboxes and access to the Classics library resources, along with privileges at both undergraduate and graduate campus libraries. Students may also participate in various departmental activities, including the Classics department's weekly tea gatherings, academic presentations, special lectures, and yearly picnics. The Religious Studies department similarly hosts frequent scholarly events, guest lectures, graduate student discussions, and social functions.
