The Master of Fine Arts in Technical Production prepares students for careers in professional or academic theater settings. This three-year curriculum equips candidates to oversee all aspects of production, from initial technical drawings to final strike. The program combines coursework with hands-on training in drafting, AutoCAD, construction techniques, structural engineering, rigging systems, audio technology, electrical systems, mechanical operations, and shop administration. Students gain practical experience through PlayMakers Repertory Company, a professional Equity theater affiliated with the Department of Dramatic Art and part of the League of Resident Theaters. Candidates work alongside PRC's professional staff, adhering to the same standards of professional conduct, work quality, and timeliness expected in the industry.
The minimum requirements are a bachelor's degree (based on a four-year curriculum) completed before graduate study begins or its international equivalent with an accredited institution; an average grade of B (cumulative GPA 3.0) or better.
The required minimum total score on the exams are internet-based TOEFL exam = 90, The IELTS exam = 7.
