The Professional Actor Training Program (PATP) at UNC Chapel Hill is an intensive three-year MFA curriculum designed for emerging theater professionals. This comprehensive program delivers advanced acting instruction, incorporates practical experience through performances with PlayMakers Repertory Company, and establishes valuable industry connections for graduates. Students learn from both resident faculty and visiting professionals in a conservatory-style environment. Our approach nurtures adaptable, genuine performers who develop both technical mastery and individual artistic identity. Upon completion, participants present their work to industry professionals through either a New York showcase event or a professionally produced digital portfolio.
