The Master of Fine Arts in Costume Production aims to cultivate the expertise and mindset essential for professional or academic careers in costume arts. This program focuses on preparing theatre artists to bring designers' concepts to life. Spanning three years, the MFA curriculum covers diverse costume disciplines while prioritizing stage costume creation techniques. PlayMakers Repertory Company, a LORT-affiliated professional Equity theatre, partners with the Department of Dramatic Art. Students gain crucial hands-on experience through work in professional costume shops, learning to craft garments that meet the rigorous demands of theatrical production.
The minimum requirements are a bachelor's degree (based on a four-year curriculum) completed before graduate study begins or its international equivalent with an accredited institution; an average grade of B (cumulative GPA 3.0) or better.
The required minimum total score on the exams are internet-based TOEFL exam = 90, The IELTS exam = 7.
