Our Master of Arts in Teaching program equips you for North Carolina teaching certification in Elementary Education (K-6)
Middle and High School Education (6-9 and/or 9-12) covering English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, plus Special Education (K-12), General Curriculum
This intensive year-long program runs from June through May, combining academic studies with a two-semester teaching residency alongside veteran educators.
The MAT curriculum prepares you to engage diverse learners through: Challenging academic coursework, Extended placements in community schools and youth programs, Unique hands-on learning experiences, Research projects in education, and Options to obtain additional certifications in ESL or Special Education alongside your primary focus.
All MAT applicants must have (or currently be enrolled in a program leading to) a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Applicants must complete their BA or BS and all prerequisite courses prior to commencing the official MAT program.
The required minimum total score on the exams are internet-based TOEFL exam = 90, The IELTS exam = 7.
