The Dual Graduate Program in Hispanic Linguistics (official website available here) represents a collaborative initiative between the Linguistics and Romance Studies Departments. This five-year curriculum allows participants to pursue and obtain a Master's degree in Linguistics specializing in Hispanic Linguistics, followed by a Doctorate in Romance Studies with a focus on Hispanic Linguistics.
Linguistics represents the systematic study of human communication. Spanning from personal expression to societal interaction, language fundamentally shapes our daily lives and relationships. Through language, we connect with those around us, understand diverse perspectives, and acquire new linguistic skills to bridge cultural divides, fostering meaningful connections both within communities and across international borders.
The prerequisite for admission to the Dual (MA-PhD) Graduate Track in Hispanic Linguistics is completion of a bachelor’s degree and knowledge of Spanish.
A prospective student who holds an MA in Spanish with a concentration in Linguistics (or the like) should also apply directly to the Romance Studies PhD.
The required minimum total score on the exams are internet-based TOEFL exam = 90, The IELTS exam = 7.
