The Culture, Society, and Space research cluster examines how spaces and places are created, investigating how regions and landscapes are influenced by social and economic forces along with associated power structures involving race, gender, and cultural dynamics. Those interested in human geography can concentrate their academic work around specialized topics and course groupings in cultural, social, economic, and political geography.
Furthermore, exploring social spaces exposes students to diverse elements including geography's historical and philosophical foundations, health policy and public administration, cultural analysis and religious studies, gender research and feminist perspectives, racial dynamics and postcolonial thought, as well as science and technology investigations.
