The ADSSE program area aims to educate doctoral candidates in the combined theoretical principles of Developmental Science and Special Education. This interdisciplinary foundation equips emerging scholars with methodologies to enhance understanding of human growth from infancy to teenage years, concentrating particularly on researching families and children/students facing potential learning and behavioral difficulties. The curriculum also emphasizes examining educational approaches and family interventions for young individuals with disabilities. This objective is achieved through research frameworks examining (a) developmental pathways of diverse families and children/students across various environments like schools, homes, and communities, along with (b) proven intervention strategies that promote fair learning chances and positive adaptation for every child by addressing unique learner needs.
A bachelor’s degree is required for application to the Ph.D in Education program. Applicants with Master’s degrees are also encouraged to apply.
The required minimum total score on the exams are internet-based TOEFL exam = 90, The IELTS exam = 7.
