For undergraduates passionate about exploring the political and cultural dynamics shaping modern Europe, the Contemporary European Studies (EURO) program offers a distinctive academic path. As a EURO major, you'll gain profound insights into the European Union, its rich history and culture, along with contemporary challenges affecting Europe and transatlantic relations – while simultaneously achieving fluency in a European language. This program particularly benefits students aiming to focus on modern Europe within specific fields like Political Science, Economics, or History through double-major options. You'll enjoy exclusive access to UNC's Center for European Studies resources (recognized as both a Title VI National Resource Center by the U.S. Department of Education and a Jean Monnet Center of Excellence by the European Commission), including academic lectures, conferences, Europe Week activities, and unique funding possibilities.
All students will be expected to have completed the pre-university curriculum (Secondary School/High School) in their country prior to enrolling at UNC-Chapel Hill. English Language Tests: TOEFL minimum is 100; IELTS minimum is 7.0; PTE minimum is 68.
