The Department of Biological Sciences provides a comprehensive graduate program culminating in a Master of Science degree in Biological Sciences.
Students can opt for either the thesis track or non-thesis path. The thesis track involves conducting research in Evolution/Ecology or Molecular Biology/Biochemistry, requiring an extensive independent laboratory or field study that results in a thesis. The non-thesis alternative enables students to focus on coursework, participate in internships, and complete a culminating project in Biomedical Sciences.
All Master of Science candidates must complete at least 30 graduate-level credit hours beyond their bachelor's degree. This curriculum ensures foundational knowledge and competencies in Biological or Biomedical Sciences while offering flexibility for students to customize their course selections according to their professional goals.
