Internship opportunities exist where students can earn academic credit by applying their language skills in community settings, such as at the French Consulate, Franco-American Chamber of Commerce, or the Red Cross.

The department operates a cutting-edge Foreign Language Lab and regularly provides online courses. Three Spanish faculty members pioneered the first U.S.-created digital interactive textbook for foundational Spanish language learning.

Alumni pursue careers in education, public relations, advertising, hospitality, and translation (including positions with the State Department). Top-performing graduates often advance to our Master of Arts program in Romance Languages.
