The Art History graduate program features two primary focus areas, each encompassing multiple specialized fields: Art of the Americas and a broad Art History concentration.
Art of the Americas combines the study of indigenous and colonial artistic traditions. While examining the stylistic disruptions caused by European colonization, this track equally emphasizes architectural studies. Its objective is to foster deeper insight into American artistic traditions as part of a cohesive cultural continuum.
Our program additionally provides an Art History degree. Candidates can specialize within either concentration area. While developing expertise for their M.A. thesis research, students must also gain comprehensive knowledge of their chosen concentration. Cross-disciplinary coursework across the university is strongly encouraged.
