The Biomedical Sciences Graduate Programs offer interdisciplinary departmental initiatives featuring a comprehensive first-year core curriculum, followed by specialized coursework and thesis/dissertation research. Students conduct their investigations within faculty laboratories across multiple basic science departments in the School of Medicine. The BSGP further enhances its offerings through collaborations with affiliated faculty from the UNM College of Pharmacy, Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute, and Los Alamos National Laboratory, who may supervise graduate research projects. Degree candidates complete BSGP requirements within one of six designated Research Areas to earn their qualification.
