Our program provides an introductory Bachelor of Science pathway for aspiring Nuclear Medicine technologists. For certified medical imaging professionals in Radiography, Radiation Therapy, Nuclear Medicine, Sonography, or Magnetic Resonance Imaging seeking to advance their education, we offer a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences (BSRS) with a Medical Imaging concentration. Additionally, we provide certification pathways in Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Backed by the Department of Radiology, this initiative is a collaboration between the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and the University of New Mexico Hospital. Our degree completion program equips graduates for careers in Nuclear Medicine, MRI, CT, or the broader BSRS field. Each curriculum combines academic studies with hands-on clinical training at healthcare facilities statewide. Outside the classroom, students gain practical experience under clinical supervision, mastering diverse equipment and examination procedures.
Upon fulfilling CT, MRI, or Nuclear Medicine program requirements, graduates qualify to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification exam. Nuclear Medicine students may also pursue certification through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) examination.
