The Medical Laboratory Sciences Bachelor of Science program involves two and a half years of pre-professional college coursework, followed by four semesters of specialized MLS training. This includes a clinical rotation during one semester at an approved healthcare facility, with placement options both in and around Albuquerque. The department facilitates pathways for graduates of accredited Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) programs to advance their careers. Upon finishing the MLS curriculum, graduates qualify to sit for the ASCP Board of Certification's Medical Laboratory Scientist examination.
