The oceanography graduate program educates students across key sub-disciplines (physical, biological, chemical, and geological oceanography) while allowing specialization. Participants explore diverse research areas such as coastal dynamics, sediment movement, climate modeling, marine acidification, climate shifts, seafloor mapping, historical ocean patterns, marine ecosystems, and microbial environments. UNH's oceanography students select from numerous research initiatives that prepare them for career advancement. Our Oceanography (OCE) graduate program features a multidisciplinary team of professors, researchers, and scholars investigating marine phenomena through physical, biological, chemical, and geological approaches. This research—spanning theoretical, computational, and experimental methods—examines environments from shallow coastal zones to deep ocean trenches across global marine systems, including polar regions.
