Our juris doctor program emphasizes practical learning, with courses led by distinguished faculty members—most of whom bring significant professional experience—alongside hands-on legal clinics and an expansive externship initiative that delivers authentic, real-world training. Eligible students may participate in the innovative Daniel Webster Scholar program, the nation's sole competency-based alternative to traditional bar exams. Participants refine their abilities through simulations and actual legal scenarios (including client consultations, collaborating with attorneys, conducting depositions, court appearances, and mediation), while compiling comprehensive portfolios for semesterly bar examiner review. Graduates of the DWS program are admitted to the New Hampshire Bar prior to commencement, enabling them to begin practicing law immediately after graduation.
