Our juris doctor program emphasizes hands-on learning through practical instruction, with courses led by distinguished faculty members—most of whom bring significant professional experience. Students gain real-world exposure through live-client clinics and an expansive legal externship program. Eligible participants may join the Daniel Webster Scholar initiative, the nation's pioneering competency-based alternative to the bar exam. DWS candidates refine their abilities in simulated and actual legal environments (advising clients, collaborating with attorneys, conducting depositions, appearing in court, and mediating disputes) while compiling portfolios of written and oral work evaluated each semester by bar examiners. Graduates of the DWS program are admitted to the New Hampshire Bar the day before commencement, enabling them to begin practicing law immediately after graduation.
