Families, in all their diverse configurations, remain the fundamental building blocks of American communities. Consequently, family law consistently produces substantial legal work from clients with varied needs who require exceptional representation. The Family Law Practice Professional Track is designed to establish the essential groundwork for building expertise in this legal specialty. Given that conflict resolution and extensive client counseling are frequently necessary, both Client Relations and Alternative Dispute Resolution serve as mandatory components. Additional core courses concentrate on the specific legal principles and procedures unique to family law. Elective options enable students to customize their education toward specialized subjects commonly faced in family law practice. This program meets the criteria for a foundational track toward earning Special Distinction in Litigation.
