Tailored to strengthen your expertise as a certified physical education instructor or graduate student in UNH's Master of Education program, this adapted physical education graduate certificate explores the unique needs of individuals with exceptionalities, developmental disability considerations, and positive behavioral strategies. You'll combine practical fieldwork with academic coursework through discussions, literature review, and projects, concentrating on evaluating, designing, and delivering specialized physical education programs for students with disabilities.
Our interdisciplinary faculty includes distinguished experts from UNH's kinesiology and education departments. The curriculum balances theoretical knowledge with practical application through laboratory work and field experiences. Additionally, you can engage in UNH's yearly adapted physical education conference. Upon completion, you'll possess the leadership capabilities to excel professionally and assume influential positions within the field.
International applicants must hold a four-year baccalaureate degree or its equivalent as a precondition for applying to any of our graduate programs. In some cases, you may also need a master’s degree or its equivalent.

Minimum score requirements are as follows: TOEFL (Computer-based): 213; TOEFL (Internet-based): 80; IELTS (International English Language Testing System): 6.5; TOEFL ITP (Institution Administered): On case-by-case basis; TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication): On case-by-case basis; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 59.
Applications must be completed by the following deadlines in order to be reviewed for admission: Fall: July 1; Spring: Dec. 1; Summer: April 1.
