Offering outstanding facilities along the New Hampshire coast and beyond,UNH is the perfect location to immerse yourself in marine science. Youll work closely with a diverse faculty while conducting research on ocean processes in broad fields of physical, biological, chemical and geological oceanography and geophysics. Youll have the opportunity to work in oceanic settings that range from shallow nearshore and estuarine waters to the deep ocean and span all ocean basins on earth,including the Arctic. Our interdisciplinary programs will prepare you for professional careers in ocean-relate fields.
The Oceanography (OCE) graduate program has a diverse set of faculty, staff, and students who examine ocean processes in broad fields of physical, biological, chemical, and geological oceanography and geophysics Basic and applied research of an experimental, numerical, and analytical nature is conducted in oceanic settings that range from shallow nearshore and estuarine waters to the deep ocean and span all ocean basins on earth including the Arctic.
Applicants should have completed an undergraduate major related to one of the oceanography disciplines, including biology, chemistry, engineering, geology, physics, or mathematics, or an appropriate array of science and engineering courses within their major field. Applicants are expected to have completed one year each of calculus and chemistry and two semesters of physics and/or biology.

Minimum score requirements are as follows: TOEFL (Computer-based): 213; TOEFL (Internet-based): 80; IELTS (International English Language Testing System): 6.5; TOEFL ITP (Institution Administered): On case-by-case basis; TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication): On case-by-case basis; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 59.
