Exercise science explores how physical activity and training influence human health and performance. Earning a degree in this field opens doors to careers in strength training, health promotion, hospital education initiatives, medical sales, sports medicine, rehabilitation centers, and clinical research. This major also provides a foundation for graduate studies in exercise science, biomechanics, nutrition, biological sciences, public health, and medicine. With increasing recognition of exercise as preventive healthcare and rehabilitation for chronic conditions, the field offers expanding career prospects for future specialists.
UNH's exercise science program equips graduates for success in health and fitness careers. Students gain practical experience in the Robert Kertzer Exercise Physiology Laboratory, featuring advanced metabolic, cardiopulmonary, biochemical, vascular, and environmental equipment, along with the Biomechanics and Motor Control Laboratory's dynamometers, electromyography, and 3D motion analysis systems. The curriculum includes service learning through the university's Employee Fitness and Cardiac Rehabilitation Programs, plus a comprehensive 400-hour internship at external sites like hospitals, fitness centers, or research labs.
Each student must have their official high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.

Minimum TOEFL score is 80 (internet version), 550 (paper version), 213 (computer version); recommended minimum IELTS score is 6.5; recommend Duolingo score is 105 or higher.
