The biomedical engineering (BME) specialization aims to deliver the fundamental knowledge required for computer and/or electrical engineers to offer engineering services in the biomedical sector. Engineers specializing in biomedical engineering integrate engineering principles with medical and biological sciences to develop equipment, devices, computer systems, and software for healthcare applications. This BME specialization is incorporated within both the electrical engineering (EE) and computer engineering (CE) curricula.
You will gain practical experience in laboratory settings that complement traditional classroom instruction while developing the practical skills employers seek. In their final year, students select from a range of professional technical electives and complete a capstone design project aligned with their career goals.
