The chemical engineering degree is designed for students interested in studying and developing processes involving energy and material conversion. Those who complete this program use their expertise in math, science, and engineering to recognize, define, and address chemical engineering challenges. Additionally, they gain skills to safely perform experiments and evaluate results, preparing them for advanced studies or diverse professional opportunities.
The Chemical Engineering & Bioengineering Department provides an Honors program available to all qualifying students with a minimum 3.2 GPA. To earn Honors in Major, students must complete 12 credits of honors coursework within the discipline, including a 4-credit thesis project. This typically involves taking either three 4-credit courses or four 3-credit courses at the honors level.
