Musical theater, spanning from Broadway to intimate cabaret shows, enthralls audiences across generations by blending acting, music, and choreography. At UNH's theater degree program, you'll hone your performance, movement, and vocal skills while exploring theater and musical theater history. You'll participate in productions directed by both faculty and peers, plus gain practical experience through mandatory practicums in set design, lighting, ticketing, and promotions. This comprehensive program prepares you for diverse careers in theater.
The musical theater specialization fosters the artistic growth of dedicated students pursuing triple-threat careers as performers who act, sing, and dance. Participants train as versatile performers in this demanding program featuring coursework, hands-on projects, stage productions, and masterclasses with visiting professionals. Students must synthesize their intensive acting, dance, and vocal training with UNH's robust liberal arts curriculum, emerging as adaptable, professionally prepared musical theater artists.
Each student must have their official high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
English Language Score:
Minimum TOEFL score is 80 (internet version), 550 (paper version), 213 (computer version); recommended minimum IELTS score is 6.5; recommend Duolingo score is 105 or higher.
