Theater encompasses every aspect of human experience, making theater education synonymous with learning about life itself. Whether you're drawn to acting, costume design, or stage management, a theater degree lets you pursue your passion for performing arts and the human stories they portray. You'll explore acting techniques, theatrical history, and production design elements. With its flexible credit requirements, this program easily pairs with another major.
Beyond our distinguished faculty, UNH's Theater and Dance Department presents over 25 annual performances in musicals, plays, and dance productions, including student-led shows. You'll have access to independent study options and can apply for R.E.A.C.H. funding to support professional internships. Our Cultural Stages initiative hosts renowned global theater artists, while our January Term abroad program provides an immersive 10-day London theater experience with cultural and political insights.
Each student must have their official high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
English Language Score:
Minimum TOEFL score is 80 (internet version), 550 (paper version), 213 (computer version); recommended minimum IELTS score is 6.5; recommend Duolingo score is 105 or higher.
