For those passionate about German language, literature, or culture, planning a career where foreign language and cultural expertise would be beneficial, or aspiring to teach German at the high school level, the German degree program offers an ideal path. As Europe's most commonly spoken language, with Germany holding substantial influence in the world economy, this program prepares students for diverse career opportunities both domestically and globally.

Students develop strong German language skills while exploring the political, social, and cultural landscapes of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Study abroad options include our summer Berlin program with faculty and peers, or enrollment at prestigious universities like those in Berlin, Freiburg, Heidelberg, Innsbruck, Marburg, Munich, Tübingen, or Vienna. Credit-bearing internships with German companies or organizations are available. On campus, students are urged to participate in the German conversation hour (Stammtisch) and can utilize a comprehensive collection of German-language videos.
