The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering educates Nevada's future innovators through comprehensive training. The University of Nevada, Reno's Civil and Environmental Engineering Department has simplified its graduate requirements, enabling Master's candidates to finish in just one year. Both thesis (Plan A) and non-thesis (Plan B) Master's options now demand at least 26 credits, offering working professionals flexible pathways to advance their careers with minimal disruption.
Admission to the M.S. or Ph.D. program requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field such as biology, chemistry, math or physics. Other disciplines will be considered provided prerequisite courses in math, science and basic engineering are completed.
