Our low-residency MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts provides a distinctive approach compared to conventional MFA programs, both in its framework and educational outlook.
Though we maintain full-time academic rigor, we've carefully structured our ten-day residencies to accommodate students who can't dedicate entire summers or extended periods away from their commitments. We recognize that passionate, skilled artists and scholars often balance family obligations, careers, or other responsibilities that prevent participation in traditional campus-based MFA programs.
Spanning 2.5 years, this innovative format alternates between immersive ten-day residencies during winter and summer in scenic Lake Tahoe and intensive home studio work during intervening semesters. Students benefit from guidance by our diverse faculty team, celebrated guest artists, professional mentors, and fellow students as they cultivate a vibrant professional artistic practice.
