Nurses holding a bachelor's degree acquire the competencies and expertise needed to support physicians, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals in treating ill or injured patients. Those with a BSN receive additional instruction in leadership, nursing research, and management, offering greater flexibility in specializing their education and career path. Increasingly, hospitals and employers favor hiring nurses with bachelor's degrees over those with associate degrees.
The RN to BSN program enables associate degree nursing graduates to pursue a bachelor's degree in nursing. This degree serves as the foundation for professional nursing practice and leadership roles. Graduates become eligible for nursing positions in hospitals, public health organizations, schools, and management roles. BSN graduates may also qualify for officer commissions in the U.S. military and graduate school admission. The RN to BSN program typically spans three to five semesters, with enrollment available in spring, summer, or fall terms. Students can fulfill Core Curriculum requirements while completing their RN to BSN coursework.
